Youth Activities
4-H Program
Administered locally through
Michigan State University Extension Services of Luce County
Currently we enjoy a group of five youths attending our 4-H program at the kennel. The 2002 and 2003 season will be our third year working with the same families. Last season the group learned a lot and got to race in two different youth races locally. It is very rewarding to work with such a great group!

Annual 4-H Picnic
The end of the season picnic is a chance to wind down at the end of the season with relaxation, good food and plenty of fun. It also gives the parents the chance to join in the fun part of mushing. For almost all of the parents, this was their very first experience on runners! The parents of our 4-H participants proved themselves invaluable through their assistance as handlers in training and especially at the races!
A special thanks to Dave Reinhart for his assistance, photography skills and participation at the March 2002 Picnic.
